Established on 25 April 1983 at 46 Keppel Street, Bathurst, Loxley House Family Practice has proudly been part of the local community for more than four decades. The practice provides a professional and welcoming environment where patients and families can access comprehensive healthcare services in Bathurst and the surrounding region.
The practice is committed to supporting high-quality, patient-centred healthcare and providing an environment that promotes the health, wellbeing and ongoing care of the local community.
Independent medical practitioners consulting from the practice provide a broad range of general practice services and are committed to delivering care that is respectful, compassionate and responsive to the individual needs of their patients. Their approach encompasses health promotion, disease prevention, diagnosis and the management of illness and ongoing health conditions.

Loxley House Appointments
Consultations are available by appointment, Monday to Friday. Please call the practice after 8:00am to book your appointment.
Saturday mornings are reserved for emergency consultations with the on-call doctor. To arrange a Saturday appointment, please phone the surgery on the day after 8:00am.
To ensure we maintain a high standard of care, we allow adequate time for each consultation. If you believe you may need a longer appointment, please let our reception team know when booking.
Phone Calls
If you need to speak with your doctor regarding test results, follow-up or medical advice, please let our reception team know. Your message will be passed on to your doctor, who will respond when they are available. Alternatively, where appropriate, a telephone consultation may be arranged with your doctor.
Patients who have had a face-to-face consultation with their doctor within the previous 12 months may be eligible for a Medicare bulk-billed telephone consultation, subject to Medicare eligibility requirements and the doctor’s clinical discretion.
For privacy and security reasons, Loxley House Family Practice does not accept patient communications or requests via email. Please contact the practice by telephone or through the appropriate secure communication channels. Where the practice needs to send personal or health information electronically, we use secure and encrypted communication methods where available.
House Calls
Home visits may be provided for patients who are genuinely housebound and unable to attend the practice due to their medical condition. Where possible, please contact the practice before 11.00 am to discuss your needs and arrange a suitable time with your doctor.
For safety and continuity of care, home visits are generally available to regular patients who have been attending the practice for at least 12 months. Home visits are provided within approximately a 6 km radius of Loxley House Family Practice and are subject to the doctor’s availability, clinical assessment and discretion.

Monday – Friday 8.00am – 6.00pm
Saturday 9.00am – 11.00am

If you require medical assistance outside opening hours you can call Health Direct on 1800 022 222 or call the practice on 02 6331 7077 to reach the after hours service for the practice. Alternatively, you may wish to attend the Urgent Care Clinic located at 129 Howick Street Bathurst.
